Exciting New Development Coming Soon...

A Digital Audio Walk around Paddington Basin. Grab some headphones and a smartphone, follow the instructions below and explore this luxury locale!

About

As part of Antiuniversity Now 2017, Degenerate Space presented a guided audio walk, exploring the everyday realities of Paddington Basin; past and present, real and imagined. You

Paddington Basin is a man-made area, originally the terminus point of the Grand Union Canal. Now, it is a place whose physical and ideological geography is owned and formed by a conglomerate of private companies, each promising and presiding over our experience of it. How do these imposed values of the Basin compare to the actual human responses to it? How do these ideologies deal with the unmoving aspects of the place - namely the water, the hospital and its location?

An invitation to distort your senses, mistrust your perception and question your position.

How To Take Part in the Walk

1. You will need a smart phone or MP3 player to take part. Visit our Soundcloud  page to download the playlist (you will need to download each track individually, soz.) We recommend using your computer browser to download the files and then upload them to your device. You can also stream the tracks live from the Soundcloud app, though Soundcloud does not enable direct download from the app.

2. Download the map. Click here to download the pdf file. The map is intended to help you along the journey, in case you need any reassurance. Moreover, it is a work of art and you should definitely check it out.

3. Go to Paddington between 10-16th June! At Paddington Station, take Exit 3 (The Grand Union Canal). The walk starts here, just outside of the exit, by the canal (see pic). Do the walk, anytime in business hours (9-5). We recommend doing the walk between 12-3pm to get the full flavour of the area.

4. Good Luck! After you complete the walk, we'd love to know what you think! Tweet us @degeneratespace or email molly.degeneratespace[at]gmail[dot]com

*BONUS!* - first person to find this l'il bit of guerilla art and send a pic to us, gets a prize! Again, tweet or email us.
